Mr. Gecan is a lifelong resident of Ogle County. After graduating from Oregon High School Brandon went on to play football at Benedictine University in Lisle where he obtained a Bachelors degree in Political Science.
After college, Brandon went on to work some different jobs as he was starting his family. He worked in internet technology, radiological protection, and for a congressional campaign. When he realized the law was where his passion lay, he went on to Law School at Northern Illinois University, where he graduated with honors, while having a wife and 3 young kids at home.
Mr. Gecan’s pre-law real world experience shaped him to be a results focused litigator with the ability to effectively communicate to clients, opposing counsel, jurors, and judges. He applied these skills here in Ogle County, where he worked for eighteen months while in law school under the guidance of the State’s Attorney’s office. Then as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Dekalb County, where for more than two years he had more cases assigned to him than any other attorney in the county.
The high volume and fast pace of a criminal court room taught Mr. Gecan how to efficiently analyze fact patterns and assess all viable options to achieve the desired result. Having successfully litigated countless bench trials and contested hearings, as well as several jury trials, Mr. Gecan knows how to fight for the outcome his clients want.
